Vince Cable, Liberal Democrat Deputy Leader and Shadow Chancellor, will be visiting Norfolk this week to speak to business leaders in the county. Dr Cable will be speaking to students at the University of East Anglia on Thursday evening, and speaking at a business breakfast meeting on Friday morning organised by Steeles Law.
Simon Wright, Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Spokesman for Norwich South, said:
"On so many of the serious economic issues that we're facing today, Vince got it right before anyone else in Westminster. He advocated nationalisation of Northern Rock months before it happened and he called for an end to the short-selling of bank stocks before the Government finally ended the practice. For years, Vince warned us of the lending practices of banks which has led to the crisis we have today."
Vince Cable will be speaking to local entrepreneurs, business owners, directors and professional advisers at Dunston Hall on Friday morning. Norman Lamb will also be speaking at this breakfast meeting.
