The Sport Relief One-Mile Charity Run is coming to Norwich on 16 March. The race begins at 10am on St Peters Street, with runners taking a route through Chapelfield Gardens.
Simon Wright, Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Spokesman for Norwich South, is among those taking part and is encouraging others to join him: "The money raised from the run will be used to help vulnerable people living tough lives, both in the UK and in the world's poorest countries."
"I would certainly encourage everyone to seriously think about taking part themselves in the run," added Mr Wright. "Being a fairly short run means that its a very inclusive initiative, with people of all abilities able to take part. It would be brilliant if Norwich could get a strong turnout of runners."
People can sponsor Simon Wright and help to make a difference to the lives of those in need by donating online at www.mysportrelief.com/swright. Alternatively, please send a cheque payable to 'Sport Relief 2008' together with your name and address to Simon Wright at FREEPOST RRCE-BXJR-EZGL, 422 Unthank Road, Norwich NR4 7QH.
