100 potential Conservative parliamentary candidates today received letters saying that they are on the party's 'A-list' for safe seats.
There will be much head scratching about those on and off the list. Iain Dale, who contested North Norfolk at the last General Election (prev. Lib Dem majority of 483 over Conservatives) as one of the Tories top candidates at the last election, is not on Cameron's list; yet soap actors are. Iain Dale was a key ally of David Davis, the challenger to David Cameron, in the Tory leadership contest.
The Conservatives website does not offer any information about who is on Cameron's A-list.
If this is the group of candidates that the Tories should be most proud of, why are they not shouting loud and proud about it?
